Amazon Alexa be Reading your META DATA

I work for a technology company that builds marketplace optimization tools for Amazon, Wal-Mart, and TikTok Shop.

A couple changes on Amazon:

  1. Title shortening

  2. Alexa AI (instead of Rufus)

My team tested how Alexa could pull up a product and it was based on the … wait for it… Meta Data!

Why these changes in tandem? So you'll fill-out the metadata instead of keyword stuffing your title!

Give the robot appropriately formatted sales copy and it will sell for you.

It prioritized hidden-to-shopper fields (or fields that a human might skip) to give product recommendations.

Guys, it skipped … A+ Content!

What does this mean:

  1. Fill-out all the fields possible on the backend.

  2. Make sure the “human-facing” copy and assets are tailored to your very specific reader.

@Thomas Umstattd Jr., I hope to hear about this change on Friday's episode of Author Update. 😁

Probably just a hygiene issue for authors’ listings IMO.
