Click Testing For Authors + Claude Code + Meta Ads Manager MCP -> The Reese's Cup of click testing

I’m a little early in my career for some of this, but I bit on the “Click Testing for Authors” course. The ideas are great and advice very helpful — Meta Ads Manager, not so much.

I followed the process as laid out in the course (always wise — if you take a course, listen and do the work as much as you can, otherwise, why bother).

During subsequent iterations, I found Meta had an MCP for Ads Manager and asked Claude for help organizing the results (the course information is solid, but its method of recording results was cumbersome, just simple Google Docs).

Claude Code was able to sign into my account, extract results, document which tests were the most successful, etc. Very cool first step. Then I had it sign in and create an entirely new set of ads using text and images it already had access to (I use Obsidian vaults for my AI long-term memory).

Today I decided to test alternate covers for my lead magnet. It already had the images (generated from ChatGPT) from when I sent them out to my newsletter for a poll. It took my existing book cover plus the top three poll results, created a campaign with ad sets linked with attribution to my landing page, suggested a budget and additional filtering to add by hand (the MCP couldn’t reach that part), and everything was ready for me to review and click publish.

I never would have bothered trying this without the combination.

A real Reese’s Cup moment.
