Pitch Optimizing
One helpful way to use the Blurb Generators in the Patron Toolbox is sort of a layered approach.
1. Base Blurb
I already had a decent blurb for my YA sci-fi novel from the Book to Blurb, but at Thomas’ suggestion I explored the Setting Pitch Generator and Plot Pitch Generator for the same book.
2. Optimize
I took the what I liked best from those and ran them through the Pitch Optimizer, which made them even better.
3. Zeitgeist
But another thing I did was prompt the chat, with after the Pitch Optimizer generated the improved pitch, with a phrase like “Rework this pitch for the current zeitgeist—noblebright (not grimdark).” The difference was notable—and just want I needed!
4. Reader Feedback
Ask your Timothy, and if you’re like me and have an email newsletter, ask them too. As my friend @J A Webb pointed out, the key is to ask readers of your genre, not writers. 😁
