SEO v GEO for author website

My current website is author(myname).com. But (myname).com is for sale. I know with SEO having the name.com is pretty valuable. Is it just as valuable with GEO? Is this something I should push for? Or would the $1,000+ dollars the seller is asking better spent elsewhere?
