Vibe Coding my Author Website

I vibe coded a new author website for myself this weekend. It was certainly more work than just “pushing a few buttons,” but it was kind of fun to see what was possible just by interacting with Claude for a day or two. (Next time it will only take a few hours).

My husband, who has a strong tech background, helped set me up and troubleshoot when I got completely lost, but I was able to pretty much converse with the AI on my own until I got the website somewhat respectable.

I’m not an artist or a professional marketer, so I am concerned that it still looks a bit hodgepodge, but it is more modern than the Divi website I built with the help of Thomas’s course. That said, building that first WordPress website helped me understand what I wanted Claude to do. So it was a helpful experience.

Overall, I would say that it was really fun to play with AI and see what is possible. It opens a whole new creative toolbox. It’s still helpful to have some basic tech vocabulary and a standby human for the final steps of getting the website hosted and live. But it’s remarkably possible.

I would love to get any feedback you have. The book link in the top menu bar leads to a separate website because I also own a URL for my book. Is that awkward?
