I published a book!

The second edition of my first novel (MG fantasy) released today! I'm super excited that I got my first review on release day (from a Kickstarter backer) -- for some reason, my readers love telling ME how much they liked my books, but they really don't like reviewing my books on Amazon?

The publication process was kinda rough since I did most of the work (including running the Kickstarter) during the school year, and I'm a full time college student (at 20 credits plus working two jobs other than writing/publishing), so it's a relief to have the bulk of the work over so I can enjoy Thanksgiving break with my family.

This is also the first book I've published where I'm actually thoroughly proud of the end result. One of the (not) fun things of being a young author is that brain development in the teen years is so rapid that by the time I published my first two books, my writing style had totally changed. But that's leveled out by now, and that's made the publication process SO much easier!

Blurb: Starra’s life could hardly be more idyllic. By day, she and her friends explore the streets of her hometown Fencer, and by night, she returns home to hear her parents’ stories of the long-foretold King.

But when growing tension between Fencer and the adjoining city Straitland threatens to upset Starra’s peaceful life, she embarks on a journey to find the legendary King before it’s too late to save the City-Twain.

With the help of her new friends Matt and Farren, will Starra be successful in her quest? Or will the King, once found, fail to be the hero she needs?
