Looking For Fantasy Books To Review/Promote in My Blog/Newsletter for 2026
Hi there!
I’m working on my blog/newsletter for next year and I always have an issue with being consistent. So this year I’m trying to get ahead of the game by writing the posts early and scheduling them ahead of time. One of the things I like to do on my blog is review/promote other similar authors.
I’m looking for authors of middlegrade/highschool fantasy novels. To be honest, I’m not too picky, but bonus points if the novels have dragons, are isekai, or litrpg. Magical creatures of any kind are also great.
Things that can’t be in the books are cussing, gratuitous gore, inappropriate content, political content, or anything else equally unsuitable for children. While a good chunk of my readers are older teens, I’m not putting anything questionable on my blog.
Christian overtones are perfectly fine, though I’m not writing Christian fiction myself due to a lack of skill (maybe after ten or twenty books… and a whole lot more Bible study). I’m VERY happy to promote christian fiction if it fits with the blog.

Right now, I’m looking for:
FEB: non-seasonal recs,
MAY/JUNE: Summer/gardening, beekeeping recs
July: I’m kind of looking to do something patriotic for the 4th? I actually have no idea how to tie that in to fantasy, but I’m definitely open to ideas. If not, I’ll do more summer recs.
SEPT: Autumn vibes pls! If I don’t get enough seasonal recs, I’ll just do non-themed recs.
OCT: Spooky fantasy pls! But safe for teens and for me! I have to read it in order to write a review and if it’s too scary… I reserve the right to apologize and not finish the book, haha. I don’t even watch scary movies… so these will probably need to be pretty tame.
DEC: Christmas themed books or short stories!

So, that’s what I’m looking for, and my goal is simply to buy your book (wherever it is available), read it, and recommend it on my blog/newsletter with links to your website/amazon page. I’m not asking for a swap, so it doesn’t matter if you have an email list/blog or not to reciprocate with.
I will be completely honest and say that my blog has… very few followers due to my not really working on it, so the only benefit some of you will see is my buying a copy of your book, a slight improvement in SEO due to being mentioned on a different website, and having an honest review that you can use on social media or wherever you need it.
But, I have to start somewhere and this costs you nothing.
So, do let me know what your book is and where to find it if you’d like to be featured on my blog! I’ll message you if I think it’s a good fit and we’ll go from there. I look forward to working with you!
Thank you for your time!
