Anyone here read The Anatomy of Story by Truby?

I’m currently going through TAoS and am hung up on his concept of Designing Principles. I’ve read through it twice, along with his examples, and I’m only grasping it at maybe a 15% level. For those of you who have read it AND understand this particular concept, could you maybe rephrase it for me? Dumb it down to a knuckle dragger level? Maybe it’s the name of the concept he’s presenting - Designing Principles. Is it just a bad name?
This is under one of his first sections on building your story premise. I’m concerned that if I just gloss over it, then my understanding of his foundation will be built on sand and nothing moving forward will be rock solid.
BTW, I find that I’m also somewhat of a better student with verbal instructions, so any YouTube videos that might be helpful, please drop the link here.
Thanks all.
