Do You Write Good Reviews?

I’ve had some great reviews on my books, but I’ve also had some poorly written ones, or reviews that are a synopsis of the book, but don’t give anyone a reason to buy it.

Authors don’t need synopsis, they already have that in their book description. What do you want to see when you are reading reviews to find your next good read?

Here’s what I want to see:

  1. What did you like about the book? Character development? Interesting concept? Fascinating plot twists?

  2. Did you learn anything new? If so, what? Moral lessons? Interesting facts?

  3. Was it well written? Well developed storyline? Plot holes? Poor editing?

  4. Did any problems with the book make you not want to keep reading, or was the story good enough it kept you reading despite editing issues?

What do you want to see in reviews that you read? Do you leave book reviews? (If not, shame on you!) 😝
