How's my pitch?

I have the opportunity to pitch my book to an editor in a few weeks. I’d love some feedback on it!

What if the one you were meant to kill, is the only one with the power to send you home?

Michael wishes he could read something other than the boring textbooks his tutor assigns him.

Amy can’t believe she ruined her only novel. Being the daughter of poor parents, she knows they can’t afford another one.

When they each come across an odd book, their hopes of adventure seem only pages away. And it is. Waking up the next morning, they find themselves in another world where a tyrannical ape wants nothing but their death.

Learning they are the fulfillment of a prophecy, they agree to face the growing evil in the land.

However the one they are trying to kill is the only one with the power to send them home.

Faced with an impossible decision, they must choose between their home, or a world they never even knew existed.

Comparable titles: The Last Battle by C. S. Lewis and Wayne Thomas Batson’s Door Within Trilogy with some similar themes from Hard Times by Charles Dickens.
