Pithy Quote at the Start of Nonfiction Chapter

Many popular-level Christian books quote some short pihty quote at the start of a chapter. I’m trying to do that, but coiming up witha quote is challenging. Is it acceptalbe if I compose something that I consider appropriate? Or, would it better to skip it? Thanks.
