Question on prose editing

Does anyone have any recommendations on how to best edit for prose? Essentially, I’m a lean fiction writer and fill out my stories on the second and third draft. But this often leads to me struggling to write prose that is immersive in a way that a writer who might write long and just cut would not face. I need any resources or tips from “lean” writers on how they go back and flesh out their writing for better, immersive, beautiful prose that the reader wants. This honestly feels more painful, but my style is to get the story out quickly and lean first drafts have proved the best way.
