Short Scenes

How do you guys feel about short scenes? I feel like long scenes end up with lots of boring transition parts unless we’re talking about a fight scene or some sort of intense dialogue, so I keep ending up having chapters where perspectives (and action) switch with like, two hundred word interludes, and then swap back. I’d rather read that than sit in some sort of boring investigation scene, I’d think, I’m just worried about the overall effect on pacing.

For context, this is an epic fantasy/steampunk with a political edge.
