Thank you all so much for helping. Hopefully, I found the solution thanks to the premise of how my book is transcribed by the main character and by incorporating your feedback on dialogue rules/conventions.

Anyone have advice on writing separate entities within a single character’s first-person narration? Right now I have the two other beings distinguished by separate fonts from each other and the character’s thoughts. However, the changed fonts are both standardized whenever I save the manuscript to a style that can be shared with others (e.g. compile to PDF.)
