Advice on printing
Hey, everyone, I’m looking for a bit of advice about booklet printing.
I’m going to publish my next children’s picture book in one month. I’ve also created a coloring book using the pictures from this book. I was hoping to print at least 100 copies of the coloring book to give away at homeschool events for customers who buy the book and also as a prize at my prize wheel.
Because it’s a give-away, I need the cost to be reasonable, but I do want it to be attractive—something children will be proud of when they win it at the prize wheel. If I publish the coloring book on Amazon, it will be $2.84 per copy for author copies plus approximately $0.50 per copy for shipping. This makes it about $3.24 per book for my cost.
I’ve checked into booklet printing online and have found that most companies charge quite a bit more than this. Some charge very close to the Amazon price, and none are enough cheaper to justify the added work for me and the inconsistency of the product (as compared to the original book).
Does anyone have a suggestion for printing coloring books at a reasonable price for give-aways?
Thank you so much for any advice you may have.
