All Art Is Human Art: A Reframe for Anyone Who's Wrestled With Using AI

I know a lot of us in here have wrestled with whether to use AI in our creative work, and with how to talk about it without getting torn apart. I’ve also watched the ways we’ve unconsciously assigned responsibility to AI for things AI bears no responsibility for. I finally found the words to explain why this is not only a bad habit, but bad for humans. I’m sharing it in case it helps anyone else here.

TL;DR: there's no such thing as an AI artist (or AI scammer). Only humans using AI as a tool, and those humans are responsible for what they make, good or bad. Which means the moment we let the label of "AI" swallow the human—as both critics and a lot of AI users do—we've lost the plot. The tool gets the credit and the blame, and the actual person disappears.

It turned into a three-part series (I had a lot to say). Part one is up if you want to read it, and I'd love to hear what others here think about this. 🔗 https://www.talenawinters.com/wintersdayin/2026/7/16/all-art-is-human-art-part-1-the-human-in-the-loop
