Amazon Ads Questions

Based on Thomas’s interview with Scott LaPierre on How to Profitably Advertise a Solo Book on Amazon, I started running some ads on my standalone seasonal book just to start learning.

After 2.5 weeks:

  • ACOS is 51%

  • CTR .7%

The book is a seasonal Advent book, and it’s a little early for a lot of sales. October is usually the earliest I start seeing a few (non-ad) sales.

So my questions are, should I

  1. Leave it and let the Amazon Ad Algorithm “learn” more in the the coming month

  2. Try changing the cover of the ebook only to see if it improves CTR ( or is it too early?)

  3. Increase bid (Scott LaPierre recommended dynamic down, so that’s what I did.)

  4. Or do something else

Additionally, if after 2.5 weeks one ad has spent $0, is there any reason to keep it running? Is there any harm? (Grok says no harm in leaving it at this early stage of “learning”)

Thanks in advance :-)
