Amazon has canceled my book categories
Hi lovely people - Amazon has decided to remove one of my books from two of the categories I chose for it - saying: “We regularly conduct content quality checks to ensure an optimal browsing experience for customers on Amazon. During a recent review, we found categories that may not accurately reflect your book’s content. This may cause a misleading customer experience.”
Now, just as a caveat, the book in question is in the same categories as the two previous in the series, all of which follow the same themes. These books have not been kicked out.
As well as this, the book in question, The Reckoning, which is book number 3 in the Amaris series ,and was released on July 15th got in the top 20 of one of the categories which has now been removed. Book 1 got to no 1 in one of the categories which book 3 has been kicked out of.
I also used the patron tool, publisher rocket and worked with a consultant to choose the categories. I didn’t go into this blind. Is this a ‘thing’ that is happening now?
Has it happened to anyone else?
Should I just try and re-add the categories the book has been removed from, or should I choose completely new ones.
I also have ads running based on the keywords in the categories. I have no idea what I should do about that.
If anyone can advise that would be great! Thanks in advance, Zoe
