Announcing Daybreak (Alpha)
Growing up, I was one of the last ones of my friend group to get a PC that wasn’t a yellow and black DOS machine with a 5.25 inch floppy disk. Yes, that’s 5… not 3. If you know, you know.
Anyways, I really like devices / programs that just do one thing. Eventually, I’d like to build this into a distraction-free writing device, but I’m a software engineer with 0 hardware experience, so I started with what I know.
Daybreak is a simple terminal app that just lets you write with a “Scrivener Lite” like experience. So far, I have a version that can be installed on Windows and am working on getting it Linux ready (Mac builds, but it’s a pain due to different shortcuts and the way Mac handles terminal apps).
Anyways, I just think it’s a fun project and wanted to share it here in case some fellow nerds might like it. If you’re interested in testing it out, send me a message. I’m working on doing a draft of a novella on it right now - there’s definitely some bugs to iron out!
