Developing an Online Course

Thomas really got the wheels turning with a recent podcast on starting online courses. It’s something I’ve wanted to do, even before publishing my first book.

I looked into the platforms he recommended and quite frankly, I’m not sure I’m prepared to sign up for the kind of monthly commitment (financially) to make it happen. Thinkific is what I first looked into a few months ago. Most of the others are similarly priced at the lowest level at anywhere from $30 - 50 per month when paying a year in advance.

I have all the equipment needed from participating in lots of podcasts, but $400-600 initial outlay is steep for an unknown venture, in what is probably a fairly small niche market.

Has anyone had experience on Squarespace for this purpose. Their bottom tier is $7-9 per month but you also have to build a website with them.

Does anyone know of other options that would allow me “to get my feet wet” and see if it’s going to be profitable before making a big investment?
