Direct Sales of Audiobooks - Options?

Hi again all,

So I own the audio rights to my debut novel Wingless and am self-publishing the audiobook, although the print/ebook versions are published through the small publisher Chicken Scratch Books.

It’s been approved for distribution through Findaway Voices (yes, I’m aware of the controversy surrounding their terms of service when Spotify took them over). Still waiting to hear back from ACX on that front. I decided to go with both non-exclusively.

However, my publisher is interested in offering the audiobook for sale through their website. They haven’t handled any audiobooks before and don’t have experience in this area, so I’m currently researching options. I also want to be able to gift the audiobook to people at my discretion, as I’m planning to use it as a grand prize for the homeschooler’s course on book publishing that I’m currently teaching.

What options exist for this sort of thing? Audiobooks need an app to be played properly, at least in my experience. The only service I’m aware of at the moment for something like this is Bookfunnel, which I’m looking into further. But is there anything else out there?

Just looking for advice/recommendations. Thanks! 😊
