Family Emergancy

Our dishwasher flooded our kitchen and now our kitchen is full of what looks to be black mold. My wife and kids all woke up sick on Sunday and the house was filled with a terrible smell. So we quickly packed a handful of things and evacuated our house.

My wife is due any day and she and she and the four small children are still sick to one degree or another.

This has been a stressful week and I am behind on everything.

If you are waiting for me to get back to you please hang in there.

80% of tech support questions can be answered with one of the three following articles. Please help spread these answers around the community.

  1. Get 1password to manage your passwords. Or better yet, read this article about how to never have password problems again. More than half of issues are from authors who can’t keep track of usernames and email addresses.

  2. Don’t use the Brave Browser or a VPN. The Brave browser randomly blocks parts of websites causing all kinds of issues. VPNs also cause issues and don’t deliver on the privacy they promise. Google can still track everything you do on a VPN with cookies and app tracking.

  3. Use a computer instead of a phone. The Patron Toolbox is not build for phones and I don’t plan to change that. I am famously not a big fan of authors using phones. They are distraction boxes that drain your creativity and ambition.

You will get a lot more writing done if you keep your phone in your pocket and use a real computer. Phones are great for zoning out to tiktok, they are not a great tool for authors who want to maximize creativity.

Sorry if that came across as grouchy, it’s been a rough week.
