Findaway Voices changing their terms of service
Please take this post with a grain of salt - I don’t use Findaway Voices as my distributor so I’m not invested in researching this topic as deeply as it warrants, but I wanted to put it out there for it to be on people’s radars since it’s come up in some author groups I’m in.
It sounds like Findaway was bought out by Spotify and they’ve changed their TOS in a way that gives them irrevocable royalty-free rights to distribute, translate, make derivative words, etc - and this is just when you use them as a distributor - I don’t think they’re even doing narration anymore. There have been screen shots posted in other groups I’m in (not my screen shots, so I’m not comfortable sharing), showing the TOS and that it goes into effect March 15.
So if you use Findaway or have been thinking about using them, I highly recommend you look into this. Most authors I’ve talked to are going to drop Findaway because of this. @Thomas Umstattd Jr. I hate tagging you in posts because I think that privilege often gets abused, but I thought you might find this interesting as well since you have recommend them quite a bit in the past.
