Goodreads ratings on Amazon?

I have a question…

I know Amazon has owned Goodreads for a decade or so, but I’ve recently noticed that when I visit a book page on Amazon (specifically the mobile site), a line appears under the Amazon ratings showing the average rating on Goodreads as well. Is this new, or have I just now noticed? And if it’s new, is it an indicator that Amazon reviews could be jeopardized if they’re posted by my Goodreads friends, the same way reviews can be removed from Amazon if they’re posted by a Facebook friend? Or is Amazon simply gleaning the review average without including Goodreads friend data in the analysis? I have quite a few Goodreads friends who are my avid target readers, and I don’t want to jeopardize upcoming launches if this crossover is a problem. I’ve checked AuthorMedia for any news on this, but @Thomas Umstattd Jr. apparently hasn’t mentioned it.
