Hello.

Hello! My name is Thomas Robison (aka ThomasSonofRobi), with a prospective pen name of Thomas G. Pauley - or maybe W. G? I don’t know, I read somewhere that people react more positively when an author has more initials, so maybe Thomas H. G. W. R. R. R. Pauley? That way people will look at the name and think, wow, this guy, probably… maybe, knows his stuff! ;-).

Just checking in after getting my ticket to the 2027 Conference. I have been working on a noblebright/fantasy book since 2014, called The Wizard's Symphony. It really started coming together last year, but after hearing (repeatedly) that most first books aren’t very good, I made a strategic shift. Instead of forcing that story to carry everything, I’m turning it into a series, with The Wizard’s Symphony as my magnum opus, and focusing on some character origin stories first.

Right now, I’m writing some prologue-style short fiction to post to Substack in a month or so. The goal is to have Book 1 (Faith from the Ashes, working title) and possibly Book 2 ready for serious marketing by the time the conference rolls around.

I have a full-time job as a Petroleum Landman (11 years), have tended bar for 25 years, am a lifelong technologist, and I am a husband with projects (currently fighting the Houston Black Clay to build a pergola), so the writing is going... slowly, but I am loving it, and can't wait to get my first few articles up, and maybe get a Fund My Comic or Kickstarter fundraiser going a little bit later in the year.
