How do you pursue writing success?

I was struck by a quote in today’s Write Well newsletter from Angela Hunt-

“Success,” Frankl later, “cannot be pursued; it must ensue, and it only does so as an unintended side effect . . . You have to let it happen by not caring about it . . . [It] is a side effect or byproduct, and is destroyed and spoiled to the degree to which it is made a goal in itself.”

Such a timely reminder as I recover from the launch of my debut novel and complete my final read-through before sending the second book of the same series to my editor…..and all the while wondering if the books will ever reach their Timothy.

If you haven’t checked out Angela’s newsletter, it’s a real treat.

Here’s a link to her newsletter.

I’d love to hear how you define, and whether you have achieved, your own writing success!
