I am belong with my Granddad’s WWII memoir but know very little about memoir. Thoughts?

I released my Granddad’s WWII memoir with better quality photos and a different cover and a little change to the blurb. I do not know much about the genre though and would appreciate any thoughts you have. Thanks!

Here is what I have now. The majority of the blurb is what he wrote. The intro and last bit are written with help from Thomas’s tools.

title: The Other Side of Glory: A Cop in Patton's Third Army by William Kitchens

Not all heroes stormed beaches. Some tracked killers behind the lines - A firsthand account of justice, duty, and humanity in the chaos of World War II.

We like to think of our men in uniform as heroes, and thank God most of them were. But the fact remains that there were so many criminally minded, morally weak, and irresponsible men in uniform that in 1943 a new organization had to be formed, in addition to the extensive police organization already in action, to meet the need for law enforcement in the armed services. This new organization was the C.I.D, Criminal Investigation Division. Their job would be the special investigation of any and all matters involving the military establishment.

From living with the amiable British to solving murders of French and German civilians, William F. Kitchens shares his experience as a cop in Patton's 3rd Army. See World War II Europe through the eyes--and poetry--of a Southern who'd been putting himself through college working in the coal mines whom the war turned into a cop.
