Is "adventure" perceived as a children's and YA genre?
For the past couple years, I’ve been calling my WIP a time-travel suspense novel. But recently, as I prepare to launch it and am working on the marketing strategy, I think the story feels more like an “historical adventure” than “suspense.” I’m also trying to downplay the time travel aspect since @Jonathan Shuerger suggested that portrays my story as more sci-fi than it actually is.
But is “adventure” perceived as a children’s and YA genre? What do you think? I’m doing research on Publisher Rocket but want to hear from readers like you.
Is "Adventure" perceived as a children's and YA genre?
Yes, but I would read an Adventure novel marketed to adults.
Yes. That genre doesn't appeal to me as an adult.
No. I think Adventure is for multiple age groups.
