Just getting started

I have a Christian non-fiction book at the publisher currently, but I have no website and no collected emails. I have an old blog on the Blogger platform, but I never added email capability. Which would be best—make a website and direct people to my old blog, or use my old blog to somehow promote the book? If I make a website, which platform is most recommended?
