Know your Timothy

After publicly announcing this project Amazon nixed a new season of Stargate because “execs were concerned that Gero’s take on the series would not have broad appeal beyond the franchise’s already dedicated fanbase.” But they stated they are open to future projects?!

Whoever these “executives” are don’t know Thomas’s rule of Know Your Timothy. A show or book can’t have too broad appeal or it won’t work. Based on what I heard about the new project from the YouTube channel Dial the Gate, this series would have been what fans have wanted. So sad. https://variety.com/2026/tv/news/stargate-tv-series-martin-gero-scrapped-amazon-1236765061/
