Launch Day & Thank You

My book, Forgotten Twin: Faith, Trauma, and the Things we Can't Repair officially launched yesterday in paperback, e-book, and hardcover.

A lot of folks in this community helped with their encouragement and thoughtful responses to questions. So thank you. Also, thank you to @Thomas Umstattd Jr. and the rest of the Novel Marketing team and great podcast guests. You saved me a lot of grief along the way to helping me learn from experts. I also know I created some grief for myself when I didn’t listen to novel marketing advice. Maybe later I will post a “Thomas was right” post listing the things I learned along the way.

Here’s a little about the book:

What if the sibling you never knew shaped your entire life?

Twin brothers Matt and Seth grew up in different worlds. After an accident crushes Seth's infant brain and leaves him unable to see, hear, or control his body, he becomes a permanent resident of a hospital for medically fragile children. For Matt, having Seth as a twin is like having a monster as a shadow. He freezes in hospitals, lies to avoid visits, and tries for years to forget his other half.

Forgotten Twin is an unflinching memoir that follows Matt as he confronts his relationship with the twin brother he spent years trying to forget. Written with searing honesty, this deeply personal account explores grief, fatih, and the unexpected grace of discovering that some relationships matter not because they make sense but because they make us whole.
