Male protagonist in Women’s Christian Fiction?
I’ve begun work on the second installment of a three part series. I write contemporary women’s fiction. I use three person POVs, with a central character. The one I’m currently working on has a male as the central character. I’ve received a little feedback that it would be better received if one of the women were the central character…as in open the book with her, focus on her storyline, etc.
I’ve read many books, as a female, in this genre, with a male protagonist and had no negative feelings. Is it because many were suspense or thriller leaning? Or am I an exception?
Thoughts, please.
