New here! Brief intro.

Hi all, I’m Mike, Tokyo-based and girl dad of 2 amazing little girls (2yo, 6mo). I’m new to the AM community here, so I thought I’d do a little intro.

I’ve been a hobbyist writer since I was a kid, when I wrote fanfiction about my favorite fantasy characters (Tanis Half-Elven, anyone?). I’m turning 40 this year and decided to stop sitting on the sidelines and get serious about writing fantasy.

I’m working on a new novel project, which may or may not fall into the “cozy” subgenre, and blends magical academia with a teahouse setting (I’m a big tea addict; student of Japanese tea ceremony, and more).

What I’m excited to get from the community:

• Meet new novel writing friends (I have a few nonfiction author friends but no fiction author friends).

• Learn more about the craft of writing.

• Go through the trials and tribulations of creative work with others (i.e. misery loves company).

Things I bring to the community:

• 15 years of consumer marketing experience working with everyone from local SMBs to multi-billion $ startups, to Fortune 500s.

• Deep experience with AI and automation for business, marketing, and sales operations.

• Love and passion for writing and fiction!
