New Young Author :)

Hi! I’m Rachel Keith, a middle-grade fantasy author! I’m new here, so I wanted to introduce myself. :)

I started writing when I was, like, 6. Had a ton of “The Chronicles of Narnia” inspiration and am a massive fan of SD Smith’s “The Green Ember” and Andrew Peterson’s “The Wingfeather Saga.” (Also had a chunk of “Sonic the Hedgehog” inspiration and I’m a Star Trek nerd! XD) Now I’m almost 18 and preparing to publish next year! Book 1 in my first series, “The Squad: Rising,” comes out June 16, 2025. :D

As for the CS Lewis inspiration, I know a lot of people say they’re the next Lewis, but that is actually nearly unachievable. So I’m not the next Lewis! …However, I have been told that Lewis’s description of his personality in “Surprised by Joy” is exactly like mine. XD

I probably spend too much time working on my novels or art or the like! ‘:D But I also enjoy “playing” with my frisky betta fish and my hermit crab who comes out of his coconut-hut once a week, collecting Calico Critters—some of which I’ve custom painted to look like my “dressed animal” book characters!—and occasionally making myself play Sonic video games. Also love binging Bluey, watching movies that range from “Pride and Prejudice” (what excellent boiled potatoes, btw) to “Dune” to the current “Planet of the Apes” franchise—and reading fantasy/sci-fi books of course!

I’m not on social media (by choice—surprising for a teen, right?!) except for YouTube once a week, so I’m probably not going to pop up here too often. But I still wanted to say hi and introduce myself to y’all! ^^
