One woman’s opinion of fantasy

Although I am not an author of fantasy, I know many of you are. I just listened to Hilary Layne’s recent evaluation of the current state of fantasy literature and how it got that way.

It is quite a detailed video essay, walking through the last 60 or more years of this genre’s history, replete with well referenced illustrations of why she thinks about it the way she does. Although it is long, she is well-spoken and interesting.
