promotional blurb: how do I use it?
So, I secured the following promotional blurb. Now I need to figure out how to use it...
Forgotten Twin: Matthew Sullivan Cox
Matt Sullivan Cox has done a wonderful service to us in this poignant book. We get to walk step by step with him on a journey from grief into self-discovery. I was especially moved by how Matt found a way to know his brother not by words but in the touch of a flower. Matt and Seth’s story shows us how nature is the universal language of wisdom and human connection. I recommend this book as a manual about how trauma can be a path into love.
-David Richo, PhD, author of Five True Things: A Little Guide to Embracing Life’s Big Challenges (Shambhala, 2019)
The Richo writes the type of books my Timothy reads - in fact, my actual Timothy is a huge fan of David Richo's books (so am I). Here is my question: How would you use this promotional blurb?
I could turn it into some “A+ content” on my Amazon page
I could also pull a small, selected quote out of this and use it on the back of my book. But my book is finished and uploaded for a July 17 launch. Do I really want to go in and mess with it?
I could add a very small selected quote on the front of my cover… but again, do I want to mess with it? Also, this isn’t a quote from an instantly recognizable name, and typically, front cover blurbs are reserved for household names - like Oprah, New York Times, and Christianity Today.
Also, the book will, in all likelihood, only be found on Amazon. So, do quotes on a cover or back cover matter?
So, any thoughts on how to use this? In case it helps, here is my current cover.
Thanks!
