Rode mic

I ordered the Rode mic Thomas recommended. I then ordered the adaptor for the USB port on my MacBook Pro. The mic said usb, but it didn’t fit. I downloaded the software. At least it says Rode. But it doesn’t pick up my mic is plugged in. It says Rode central not rode connect. I have a podcast in 12 minutes. obviously won't get to use it today. But any suggestions on why it own’t connect?
