So grateful for my in-person writing group!

After encouragement from various podcast episodes, I finally put together an in-person writing group last fall, which has been overall a good experience, but a little tricky since it’s entirely college students and I’m by far the most experienced writer.

But today, I had one other writer really push back on a worldbuilding idea I had, and her criticism really strengthened the entire story premise, not just the worldbuilding! I feel like I’m finally experiencing what writing groups were meant to be (rather than everyone going, “your story’s great!”), and it’s so fulfilling and encouraging.
