Software for Scanning Lined Paper into .docx or Google Doc

Hey everyone!

I know I haven’t been on here often, but I need some help with something I’ve been wondering about.

I prefer to hand-write my novels, then fine-tune them in Google Docs to achieve the story I want. Because of this, I’m technically writing the same novel twice: once on paper, then typing it up. However, I was wondering if there was software, preferably free, that could scan text written on lined paper into a .docx format or directly into a Google Doc.

I did some quick research, and the AI write-up gave me a mix of different options. However, I wanted to see if anyone here did the same writing process, and found a way to write on paper than scan into digital.

Any help would be appreciated.
