StoryOrigen vs BookFunnel

I’m getting ready to set up my first reader magnet to begin growing my email list. I have been going through Thomas’s course Author Email Academy. But I am a little confused about the two services. In the course Thomas recommends StoryOrigen because it is free, but when I tried to set up a reader magnet it said I needed to upgrade. So maybe that has changed.

Has anyone used both or either of these services? Recommendations? It looks like BookFunnel might be $20 for its lowest tier and StoryOrigen might be $100.
