The Actual Writing Life--Getting an Agent & a Book Deal

I know folks here are mostly self-pubbed authors (I am both indie & small press) and have varying perspectives and experiences with publishing.

I follow a gal on Substack who is writing a Middle Grade novel and she shared her experience there about landing an agent—during Covid—shopping her manuscript, the slog of revising and still no book.
