This Is Me

Is this where I’m supposed to introduce myself?

Ugh.

I guess I will then.

I’m Gayne Young. I’ve been writing professionally for over three decades. I used to write for such publications as Outdoor Life, Sports Afield, Sporting Classics, and a host of other magazines when there were such. I became the first “outdoor writer” to interview Vladimir Putin back in 2011 and most recently interviewed country singer Rich O’Toole about his new album or something. I dunno. He wasn’t all that interesting.

I started writing books back when guidebooks were a thing then moved onto pulp and am now writing dark humor. My book Tiger Tales from the Acuña Cartel and its sequel Panda Jelly Served at the Acuña Cartel are selling fairly well but could do better.

I had a script optioned by Kopleson Entertainment back in 2011 but that went nowhere so I’ve stuck to magazines and books as that’s a pretty steady paycheck.

That’s about it.

Glad to be here.
