Website transfer

Is it safe to let the website hosting company transfer your site from present host to them or do a I need a website administrator involved? I’m moving from Namecheap to Siteground. Siteground says they do it as part of the package. @Thomas Umstattd Jr.

Update: someone who knows more than I suggested I ask if they backup before they transfer. They said they do. So I feel better. I have over 10 years of blogs. Don’t want to lose them.
