Who Reads Introductory Posts? (Definitely not me...)

Hello, fellow writers/editors/whoever-you-happen-to-be!

I’m just another nameless (well, I guess that isn’t true…I DO in fact have a name) young Christian writer who aspires to glorify God by creating stories and articles that reflect His truth, goodness, and beauty.

Why do I write? I write because this is one of the things I believe that God has created me to desire to do. I believe He planted a desire to create within me at a very young age and this strange writing ambition has continued to well up from some mysterious place in my soul ever since.

I cannot help it. My fingers so often itch for a pencil, a pen, a keyboard.

So, here I am…writing. I write stories, prayers, articles, journal entries, even sometimes (and believe me, you DON’T want to read it) poetry.

Someday, I would love to become a published author of both novels and non-fiction and even be able to support myself in and through my writing.

I am very much not there yet. I have a long way to go.

But, if I can just be faithful in the little things—writing every day, blogging consistently, persevering through a manuscript—maybe someday, someday, I’ll get there.

But if I never get there, that’s okay too. The joy is in the journey.

God created me with a desire to write. So I write.

I could say a lot more. I could tell you what I write about and who I am and what my family is like. I could provide details about where I live, about my obsession with pushups, or perhaps about my blog/email list. I could talk for hours about books, movies, character development, and conflict. I could talk about my struggles as a Christian, about the difficulties of learning to discipline myself and “crucify the desires of the flesh.”

But I won’t say anymore about myself for three reasons:

  1. First of all, who reads introduction posts? I definitely don’t.

  2. Secondly, if you’re really curious (which you probably aren’t), you can always look at my bio, check out my blog, and subscribe to my email list….

  3. Finally, if I want to be true to the aspiration I mentioned above to be “faithful in the little things,” I really need to BE DONE writing this and go do what is truly more important at this studious stage of my life…namely, my homework.

Well, if you managed to make it the end of this (quite long) introductory post (I definitely wouldn’t have), congratulations and thanks for reading!

I hope to see you around this community and it’s really such a privilege to be here.
