Writing Acknowledgments?

I wonder if anyone here could offer advice on how to write the Acknowledgments for a novel. I think this must be the hardest part of the book to write.

For my first book I went into all kinds of details and told little stories and such and I think it was just way too long and involved. Now I’m writing the one for Book Two and I want to go for short and sweet but still communicate my appreciation for people who took interest in my writing, prayed and encouraged, etc. After awhile I feel like I’m just repeating myself and it sounds kind of dorky. Should I continue with little stories? Will anyone read it at all?
