Writing the back cover blurb for my first book
I just wrote a blurb for the back cover on my first book. Would anyone want to give me feedback? I’m not sure if this is an appropriate place to ask, but its only 207 words.
England 1527
Father Thomas Abell could have happily spent his life in the peaceful academic halls of Oxford. But when the powerful Cardinal Wolsey summons him to the royal court, Thomas rushes to London, where he is thrust into the center of a treacherous political landscape.
Embroiled in King Henry VIII’s quest for a divorce, Wolsey asks Thomas to serve Queen Katherine of Aragon as her personal chaplain and the king’s informant.
Thomas reluctantly agrees, but when the king sends him to Spain on a questionable mission to retrieve a sensitive document, Thomas faces a new moral dilemma. Will he continue to support his king or follow his conscience? Will he have the courage to do what is right?
Thomas Towers is the true story of Thomas Abell, the 16th-century priest who defied King Henry VIII and spent seven years incarcerated in the Tower of London. There, he carved his name and family emblem, which visitors to the Beauchamp Tower can see today. Author Theresa Abell Haynes, a descendant of the Abell family, grew up with the Abell symbol and family lore. But it was not until she began researching the little-known saint that she discovered the inspiring true story of his courageous actions and unwavering faith.
