Pitches and Launch Dreams #13

Homework:

Share the two to three-sentence press pitch for your book.

First attempt: Little Gator’s Morning Dash is more than just a delightful children's book, it is a blueprint for helping families have smoother mornings and happier days. Little Gator’s Morning Dash breaks the morning routine into 5 easy to follow steps that your child will want to try on their own.

Second attempt: Have you ever been stuck with knowing how to motivate your child to get up and going in the morning? If so, then Little Gator’s Morning Dash is the book for you. Little Gator breaks up an easy morning routine into 5 simple steps that your child will delight in. Children who learn to follow basic routines grow into more responsible and capable adults.

Or I could just use my back cover copy: Raise your hand if you struggle with getting your children up and going in the morning.

You are not alone. It might not be the oldest question ever but it's got to be close. How can parents turn morning hysteria into a seamless routine?

The answer is, Little Gator’s Morning Dash.

With charm and wit, Little Gator dashes through five easy to follow steps that even toddlers will want to try on their own.

What will children gain? Independence and confidence.

What will  parents gain? Smoother mornings and happier children.

What could be better than that?

Create a one month launch calendar in a google doc and launch plan:

I have used a google calendar for well over ten years so I won’t share the exact calendar here as it has my client’s listed but here is a timeline of sorts for me.

Step 1: Complete my website and tweak the front cover of my book, adding a subtitle as much as possible before my surgery at the end of May. Hopefully I will be strong enough to get this finished by the beginning of June.

Struggle: I am not sure what to do about an acknowledgement page as I don’t have my launch team yet. I may have to do some more edits to my book at a later date.

Struggle: Decide whether or not to have a blog or a newsletter or both

Struggle: Create a landing page with lead magnets of coloring pages.

Also have the launch party lead magnet created and ready to go - colored chore chart that goes along with the book, bookmarks, other items?

Struggle: Figure out Goodreads

Step 2: As soon as the website is functioning: Send out invitations via a google form to people I know to be part of my launch team and start building a subscriber list

Step 3: In July/August start meeting with the launch team and setting up venues for the launch. Expand launch team as needed

Struggle: Create and order supplies as needed for the launch

Struggle: Set up Amazon page for pre release?

Struggle: Create teasers for a pre drip campaign on social media

Struggle: Order copies to be sold in person and create bundles

Step 4: Mid August - 1 month before the launch date (September 14)  - begin the drip campaign through emails and social media

Finalize venues, materials/supplies, etc…

Step 5 - Launch day events begin…

Launch team has pre-ordered the book and will start to strategically leave reviews.Continue launch and live venues from September 14 - October 12th

Step 6 - Thank all members of the launch team with a handwritten note and hopefully their names on the acknowledgement page

Step 7 - Continue to push my book on my website and social media to increase sales and add excitement via my blogs, ads, etc…

Step 8 - start to prepare for my second book Little Gator’s Bedtime Dash

Step 9 - Create a special for my book during Mental Health Awareness month and encourage people to reach out for therapy with sessions and give therapy a try. They can sign up with me or anyone else, as long as they are seeking help - with the sign up of one session - they will receive a free copy of my first book

Step 10 - this will be the lead magnet for the launch of my second book  - hopefully

Share a link to your media kit page (if you have one).

No media kit yet - I am still debating as to whether or not I want one or if I want to be a recluse like Harper Lee 🙂

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
