Day #3 - I love my tech, savvy? by Michael Fedor

On my phone, I am most fascineated with Shortcuts and automations. Getting really cool or really helpful, multistep sequences to happen based on a voice command, a location, or a time of day really intrgues me. I never seem to have enough time to really think creatively about such shortcuts that would be helpful. Or necessarily to remembeer to use them once I have programmed them.

I consider myself on the tech-savvy side of things, so my fear is falling behind in my knowledge. Staying current enough so that I am never intimidated to push a button. Large language A.I. is evolving rapidly so I am trying to keep up, but some of the jargon around it is getting more and more complicated. Like others, i fear something breaking on my website or malicious code getting in there and then not being able to resolve it on my own. This happened to me in 2020 because I let down my guard and did not stay on top of a website I was managing. Lessons learned the hard way.

For me it is about love and embracing the mission to make technology my servant, and staying focused on the immense power that I can unlock by mastering it.

Some technology I am grateful for:

●      Access to more power, resources, capabilities, and quality information from my own home in seconds than any generation ever before me.

●      Reducing the time it takes to complete simple tasks

●      Access to more quality entertainment than ever before

●      Continuous innovation and advancement

●      Cures for disease

●      Advancements in nutrition

●      Renewable and less polluting energy sources

●      Greater cooking capabilities in my own home

●      Safer travel

●      Faster travel

●      Solutions to problems

●      Indie Publishing!

I use Timemachine and Dashlane for backups and passwords respectively. I often say now that life is just a series of forgotten passwords. Outside of a phone or a computer, the password world is still very clunky. Few things are more annoying than having to log back into five or six different streaming services just to watch a show. There has to be a way for my voice or retina to become my secure password to unlock my home entertainment systems faster than passphrases!

Happy Day #3 everyone!
