Day #5 Homework - The Tribe Has Spoken by Michael Fedor
I have narrowed my top 3 favorite movies down, which I found difficult at first because i LOVE movies. But my gut went with the top 10 movies i could name that I loved in a minute or less and then winnowed the list down:
Indiana Jones & The Last Crusade
Saving Private Ryan
Dead Poets Society
The theme that I came up with among these three films that align with the theme of my life is the most prevalent message of Dead Poets Society - Seize the Day, Live an Extraordinary Life. Tom Hanks sums this up at the end of Saving Private Ryan by imploring Ryan “Make it worth it.” And Indiana Jones and his Dad had different ideas of what is defined as an extraorindary life at different stages of their lives.
It is definitely true that my life’s work theme is about finding extraorindary in the ordinary and seizing the moments each day offers through courage and passion and hope.
Now meet a member of my tribe: Reese
Reese loves to read for entertainment. She is creative, opinionated, and is very clear about what she believes, which does not always fit into a neat political box. She loves complex mysteries and stories where the good guys and gals take down the greedy fat cats. She is a bit of a closet sci-fi fan - it might be Star Trek or Star Wars or something else - but she loves above all, a character driven story with lots of easter eggs, facts, and rich detail.
