Dear Reader,

I was at my computer writing this week when the U.S. Senate began a debate on the impeachment of a cabinet secretary. The President Pro Temp refused to decide a point of order and instead put the question to the Senate.

I got chills.

Anyone who finished reading The Senate Deception would know why. It is a pivotal moment in the book on whether or not filibuster reform has a chance.

I got on X and Insta and a few others and said, "hey if you're watching this right now, you're a political nerd just like me and my readers! We have a seat saved for you in our growing community! Come join us!"

Setbacks Become Opportunities

You have not heard from me in a little while. I was licking my wounds from our failed Kickstarter for Bull Moose Book 1 🫎. While we reached over 65% funding, it was not the 100% we needed to fully fund the editing and off-set printing for a May release.

My entrepreneurial side kicked in. I went back to the drawing board with my fellow writing community and committed to a stronger launch team and a more creative solution to get the final copy editing done. The release date has been pushed back as a consequence, but have no fear. You'll be reading about Jackson and Catherine Piper, Ron Bender, Valerie Lawrence, Diesel Browning, Russell Warner, Ziggy, and the new Bull Moose Party before Flag Day 🇺🇸.

If you are dying for a hard political science fiction thriller (we're going to start calling our genre Poli-Fi, friends) BEFORE June, and you have not yet read The Senate Deception, what are you waiting for?

It has a topical subject - the U.S. Senate and filibuster reform in the age of a divided country.

It has fantastic characters you won't forget and all of them appear in some form in What It Takes to Kill a Bull Moose.

The Senate Deception is a book .5 - a prequel if you will - to Bull Moose Book #1!

It is hard political fiction because it's based on how the Senate and U.S. politics actually function. Soft political fiction takes a lot of liberties on how the systems actually work in order to move the story along. You won't find that in my books.

It is hard science fiction because current and anticipated technological advancements play a role in the story - there is a great AI character named Ziggy that you'll love.

Over 1,100 readers have downloaded or purchased the book since January 12 this year and the reviews have been incredible! If you're an email subscriber (hint, you are because you're reading this), you can download a free copy right now here.

Dear Reader,

I was at my computer writing this week when the U.S. Senate began a debate on the impeachment of a cabinet secretary. The President Pro Temp refused to decide a point of order and instead put the question to the Senate.

I got chills.

If you finished reading The Senate Deception would know why. It is a pivotal moment in the book on whether or not filibuster reform has a chance.

I got on X and Insta and a few others and posted, "hey if you're watching this right now, you're a political junkie just like me and my readers! We have a seat saved for you in our growing community! Come join us!"

This reminds me if you know someone who was tuning in like you, please feel free to forward this email to them and let them know there is a writer out there writing for them.

If you are dying for a hard political thriller / science fiction mystery BEFORE my next release in June, and you have not yet read The Senate Deception, what are you waiting for?

The fast-moving novella is set in the U.S. Senate in 2039 on the cusp of historic filibuster reform in the age of a more divided country, but there is a dark secret behind the reforms.

The Senate Deception has fantastic characters and is a book .5 - a prequel if you will - What It Takes to Kill a Bull Moose, which is set for release June 11.

You will be captivated by the realistic portrayal of how the Senate and U.S. politics actually function. Some political fiction takes a lot of liberties on how the systems actually work in order to move the story along. You won't find that in my books.

There is a spicy hint of hard science fiction in my writing because current and anticipated technological advancements play a role in the story - there is a fascinating sentient AI character named Ziggy who helps solve the book’s main mystery. I know when you read her, you’ll just fall in love with her wit, knowledge, and enthusiasm.

Over 1,100 readers have downloaded or purchased the book since January 12 this year when it released, and the reviews have been incredible! If you're an email subscriber (hint, you are because you're reading this), you can download a free copy right now here.

Jake is blown away…but an even more bizarre secret comes to light when Jake’s friend Al, owner of the local diner, enlists Jake to take over the mission that has become his obsession—to prevent the Kennedy assassination. How? By stepping through a portal in the diner’s storeroom, and into the era of Ike and Elvis, of big American cars, sock hops, and cigarette smoke…Finding himself in warmhearted Jodie, Texas, Jake begins a new life. But all turns in the road lead to a troubled loner named Lee Harvey Oswald. The course of history is about to be rewritten…and become heart-stoppingly suspenseful.

Take your existing copy on one to two of your website pages and rewrite them. What did you change? What did you discover?

I discovered my copy needs to be a lot more reader-focused and more explicit about what I am offering to a site visitor in terms of genre, content, tone, and experience.
